It was a milestone in terms of alarming climate changes.
The difference between Kebnekaise’s two tops is that the South Peak has a glacier at the top while the North Peak, which stands by its side, consists of only solid rock.
With current climate change it´s now no doubt that the South Peak will hand over the throne to the North Peak fully – and not just during the summer period. This will be a paradigm shift in what is considered to be Sweden’s roof.

Naturupplevelser äventur och ansvar (2012) Votum, www.votumforlag.se

Join me on 21 fascinating outdoor adventures such as the most northerly tip of the European main land, North America’s Galapagos and the closely guarded Selvagem Islands. If the weather is good, there is nothing to block your view. The view is unobstructed for 360 degrees. However, a visit to this type of environment offers so much more than merely reaching the top: you get untouched nature, uninterrupted vistas, glaciers, and climbing, not to mention many beautiful hiking trails. Pär Axelstjerna has long been fascinated by Kebnekaise and the surrounding areas, and has been coming here to take photographs for many years. In this publication, he talks about his experiences and encounters with people on the trails and describes different ways to the top and places to stay. He also talks about the history of the area, the pioneers, Tarfala and the families of Sarri and Haugli.

“The book – a nice way to share your adventures with others”

My travels and the pictures I have taken have resulted in three books.
