It is important for me to try to support worthy causes when I can. I have selected three areas that are important to me for various reasons.
The Cancer foundation
It hits home when it affects close family and friends. My mother was diagnosed with cancer about two years ago. Four weeks later, she left us.
Snow Leopard Trust
There are many species threatened with extinction and one that I find particularly fascinating is the snow leopard. One organisation that is working for the survival of the snow leopard is the Snow Leopard Trust. It is active in the mainly poor countries where the snow leopard still exists. Its activities include the protection of the snow leopard and the study of the snow leopard’s behaviour. It also educates the local population and tries to obtain financial aid for those who may be losing their cattle to the snow leopard.
Saron’s health care project in Nepal
The health care situation in Nepal is difficult. In many areas, more than half of all children die before the age of five. By supporting the hospital in the town of Tansen, the church of Saron (Gothenburg) is trying to help them meet their needs.
